Course Overview
This course is designed to help primary school pupils understand mathematics easily, build confidence, and develop strong problem-solving skills through simple explanations, practical examples, and engaging activities.
Students will learn:
🔢 Numbers & Number Sense – counting, place value, ordering, comparing numbers, and number patterns.
➕➖ Basic Operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
✖️ Multiplication & Division – times tables, mental maths, and solving word problems.
🍕 Fractions, Decimals & Percentages – understanding and working with parts of a whole.
📏 Measurement – length, weight, capacity, time, money, and temperature.
📐 Geometry – shapes, angles, symmetry, perimeter, area, and basic properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
📊 Data & Graphs – collecting, reading, interpreting, and presenting information.
🧩 Problem Solving – learning how to understand questions, choose the right method, and find solutions.
🧠 Mental Mathematics – developing speed, accuracy, logical thinking, and confidence.
📝 Revision & Practice – quizzes, exercises, and assessments to reinforce learning.
Goal: By the end of the course, students should be able to approach mathematics with greater understanding, confidence, accuracy, and enjoyment.

Prerequisites:
Be enrolled in or have completed a primary school class appropriate to the course level
Have a basic understanding of numbers and counting
Be willing to learn, practise, and ask questions
Requirements:
Laptop, tablets, or smart phone
Mathematics notebook
Writing materials eg Pencils, eraser, Ruler and sharpener
Headphones or earphones (recommended)
Stable internet connection
Parental/guardian support for younger students
Class Rules & Conduct
1. Attendance: A minimum of 80% attendance is mandatory to successfully complete the course.
2. Punctuality: Students should join every class on time.
3. Active Participation: Students are expected to participate in lessons, discussions, quizzes, and activities.
4. Respect: Treat the teacher and other students with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
5. No Disruption: Students should avoid unnecessary noise, interruptions, or distracting behaviour during lessons.
6. Ask Questions: Students are encouraged to ask questions whenever they do not understand a topic.
7. Complete Assignments: All classwork, homework, and assigned activities should be completed and submitted on time.
8. Be Prepared: Students should have their mathematics notebook, writing materials, and other required resources ready before class.
9. Stay Focused: Avoid unrelated apps, games, social media, or activities during online lessons.
10. Use Appropriate Language: Students must use polite and appropriate language at all times.
11. Online Safety: Do not share personal information, passwords, or private details with other students.
12. Academic Honesty: Students should complete tests and assignments independently unless collaboration is specifically allowed.
13. Camera/Microphone: Students should follow the teacher's instructions regarding camera and microphone use.
14. Technology: Students are responsible for ensuring their device is charged and their internet connection is ready before class.
15. Missed Classes: Students who miss a class should catch up on the lesson and complete any missed work.
16. Parent/Guardian Support: Parents or guardians should support younger students in maintaining regular attendance and completing assignments.
17. Disciplinary Action: Repeated violations of the class rules may result in a warning, parent/guardian notification, or removal from the course where necessary.
18. Commitment to Learning: Every student is expected to come ready to learn, practise, improve, and give their best.
